Thinking like a defender: a mental checklist for hard waves
When a wave keeps wiping us, panic-building never helps. Over time we developed a short mental checklist that turns most losses around.
Start by asking what type of enemy actually broke through. Fast units, armoured units, and flyers all demand different answers, and the fix is usually specific rather than just more towers.
Then look at your choke points. One well-placed slowing tower often does more than three damage towers because it buys everything else time to fire. Crowd control is underrated by almost everyone.
Finally, check your economy before the wave starts. If you spent everything, you have no room to adapt. We always keep a small reserve, place our answer, and only then start the wave. It is boring advice, and it works almost every time.
