Strategy games that respect a ten-minute break
Most of our play happens in short bursts, and a lot of strategy games simply do not survive that. We look for a few specific things before recommending one for commuters.
Instant saving is non-negotiable. If closing the app loses progress, it is useless on a train. The best games checkpoint between waves or turns automatically.
Session length matters too. A game with forty-minute locked missions is a bad phone fit, no matter how good it is. We favour designs that let you stop mid-map and pick up later.
Finally, we watch load times. Ten seconds of logos every launch adds up fast when you only have a short window. A game that drops you back into play in a second earns a lot of goodwill from us.
